I have been going to Gwinn since I was 6 weeks old. My Dad has been going to Gwinn Island since he was 13. My parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles used to go there and stay in cabin 17. To me Gwinn Island will always be a very special place.

We would stay for a whole week every summer. I remember my mom, grandmother and aunts getting up early in the morning and making breakfast. Awww, waking up to the smell of bacon, eggs and biscuits was awesome!

I remember the owner Mr Wellington Cooper and Wally, Mr Cooper’s father-in-law who was in charge of the game and snack room. I remember their dog “whitey” which used to hang around our cabin when we were there every year. I remember the Restaurant which used to be at the bottom of the hill and the large floating swimming pool complex. I used to play pinball in the Game room when I was a kid and listen to the Jukebox.
